Bhubaneswar, March 24: With the Central Election Committee’s marathon meeting in BJP headquarters in New Delhi from Saturday evening, the top leadership of the party are discussing specific poll strategies for Odisha.
The CEC team of the Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP) is expected to release its list of candidates for several states including Odisha after the Central Election Committee on Saturday night approved the names of candidates for Odisha.
Source said candidates for Odisha Lok Sabha segments have been almost finalized. Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan is likely to contest from Sambalpur, Sambit Patra from Puri, and Aprajita Sarangi from Bhubneshwar.
Similarly, Pratap Sarangi might be fielded from Balasore LS constituency while sitting MP Sangita Singh Deo is likely to contest from her steady place, the Bolangir Lok Sabha segment. From Dhenkanal, former RS MP Rudra Pani might be the face from the party.
Similarly, Veteran leader Balabhadra Majhi is likely to be fielded from Nabarangpur. However, the list is yet to be formally declared by the top leadership of the BJP.
Apart from it, the CEC in the presence of BJP national president JP Nadda, Home Minister Amit Shah, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh , UP Chief Minister Yogi Aditya Nath among others, are so far working on finalizing the candidates’ list for the Assembly constituencies in view of Odisha, the source added.
