BJP leaders to meet Goa Governor to stake claim for govt formation

New Delhi, March 10: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leaders will meet Goa Governor P.S.Sreedharan Pillai today to stake a claim for the formation of government in the state. As per the trends, the BJP was leading on 20 seats, out of the total 40 seats. The saffron party is confident of securing a simple majority in the state. It has said that the oath-taking ceremony would happen on March 14. "The credit for this win goes to the party workers...BJP will form the govt in Goa," said Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant. Besides the Congress and the BJP, AAP, TMC, the Maharashtrawadi Gomantak Party (MGP), the Shiv Sena, NCP, the Revolutionary Goans, the Goencho Swabhimaan Party and the Jai Mahabharat Party, among others are in the fray.
