Bhubaneswar, Aug 22: The Monsoon session of Odisha Assembly will begin on September 10 and conclude on October 20. On the last day, the state cabinet will put the proposal to dissolve 16th Odisha Assembly, said a BJD insider.

The ruling BJD is mulling for early Assembly election in the state. Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik will take the final decision this week in this regard, said a senior BJD leader.

The Election Commission of India (ECI) will issue notice for Assembly elections in five states in the first week of October. The BJD is planning to go to election with the five states in December following survey report that the Naveen Patnaik led BJD will win at least 125 seats of the 147 seated Odisha Assembly if elections are held earlier than Lok Sabha election, said a senior leader of the party.

The party is considering to dissolve the Assembly before October so that the ECI will issue the notice along with the five states.
