Bhubaneswar, Jan 2: President of India, Droupadi Murmu, is scheduled to arrive in Odisha today on a six-day official visit. During her stay, the President will participate in several official and cultural programs across the state.

In view of the visit, security arrangements in Bhubaneswar have been significantly tightened. Traffic restrictions have been imposed on routes likely to be used by the President, as per guidelines issued by the Commissionerate Police. President Murmu will arrive in Bhubaneswar on the evening of February 2.

For the President’s visit, Lok Bhavan has been declared a no-flying zone, and strict security measures will be in place on February 3, 6, and 7. According to DCP Jagmohan Meena, around 32 platoons of police personnel will be deployed in the city, with 10 additional platoons assigned for route lining during the carcade. The security arrangement will also involve 4 DCPs, 5 additional DCPs, 23 ACPs, 33 Inspectors, 121 Sub-Inspectors/Assistant Sub-Inspectors, and 52 female constables from the Special Tactical Unit (STU). A rehearsal of the carcade was conducted on Sunday evening from the airport to Lok Bhavan and Xavier Square.

On February 3, the President will travel from Lok Bhavan to the airport by carcade and proceed to Balasore by helicopter. She will be the chief guest at the convocation of Fakir Mohan University and inaugurate the university’s newly constructed auditorium.

On February 4, she will unveil the statue of Bhanjbir Sunaram Soren in Rairangpur and interact with students at the Government Girls’ High School, Mahuldihi. She will also inaugurate several development projects, including the Government Ayurvedic Medical College and Hospital, OUAT campus, archery center, urban beautification and drainage projects, CSR initiatives, and the M.Sc. Information Technology campus in Rairangpur.

On February 6, the President will meet with women and youth from tribal communities at Similipal and later return to Bhubaneswar by helicopter. She will attend the “Black Swan Summit India”, organized in collaboration with the Global Finance and Technology Network, at Mayfair Hotel. She will spend the night at Lok Bhavan.

On February 7, President Murmu will depart for Chhattisgarh at 8:30 AM. In Jagdalpur, she will inaugurate the “Bastar Pandum 2026” festival.
