Rajnagar, Oct 19: The political war between Rajnagar BJD MLA Dhruba Sahoo and Kendrapara Zilla Parishad vice-president Ashok Pratihari is going to help Congress leader Anshuman Mohanty.
Ashok Pratihari has been active in Rajnagar by attending socio-cultural events. An organisation named after him ‘Ashok Bhai Fans Club' had organised a cleanliness drive on October 2, the birth ceremony of Mahatma Gandhi.
Further, it organised a blood donation camp on October 17 along with Jeevan Bindu programme of Odisha-Mo Parivar.
According to reports, Dhruba had asked the members of Odisha-Mo Parivar not to join the blood donation camp. But the camp was successfully organised following intervention of state-level leaders.
Ashok showed his strength through the blood donation camp by not using party symbol. Besides, he directly targeted Dhruba by saying he does not know Dhruba Sahoo during media interaction.
The infighting between the two BJD heavyweights in Rajnagar is indirectly helping former Congress MLA and party district president Anshuman Mohanty who lost to Dhruba in 2019 amid tough fight.
Son of veteran Congress leader, Nailinikanta Mohanty, Anshuman has a good grip in the constituency and he has been targeting the ruling party in Rajnagar by holding frequent party events.
The Congress has intensified its protest alleging the BJD MLA's involvement in construction of a hotel in forest land.
