Bhubaneswar, July 18: The Biju Janata Dal (BJD) today demonstrated demanding action against Governor Raghubar Das’s son, Lalit Kumar, following the alleged assault on Assistant Section Officer Baikuntha Pradhan in Puri.
Youth and student wing of BJD, which today staged a demonstration outside the Raj Bhawan, questioned as to why the action was not taken against Governor Raghubar Das’s son, Lalit Kumar in this case.
The incident reportedly took place on July 7, and despite the passage of time, no significant action has been taken against the accused.
The BJD has criticized the state government’s silence on the matter, emphasizing that such inaction threatens the dignity and pride of the Odia people.
They also highlighted that during the tenure of the previous government, led by Naveen Patnaik, swift actions were taken in similar cases.
The BJD has warned that if justice is not served, they will intensify their protests.
