Washington DC, Mar 19: Disney has announced release dates for two highly anticipated films, adding excitement to the Summer 2028 movie season. The live-action sequel ‘Lilo & Stitch 2’ is set to hit theatres on May 26, followed by the third instalment of the beloved superhero franchise, ‘Incredibles 3’, on June 16, as confirmed on Disney’s official Instagram handle.

For ‘Incredibles 3’, the returning voice cast includes Craig T. Nelson, Holly Hunter, and Samuel L. Jackson. While plot details remain under wraps, the previous films focused on the Parr family-a superhero couple, Bob and Helen Parr (aka Mr. Incredible and Elastigirl), trying to live a normal life with their three children after superpowers were banned. The sequel is expected to follow the family as they strive to restore public trust in superheroes while facing a new cybercriminal threat. The first film earned $630 million globally, while the sequel became a blockbuster, grossing $1.24 billion, according to Variety.

Meanwhile, ‘Lilo & Stitch 2’ remains shrouded in mystery. Disney has not revealed the cast, director, or storyline, but Chris Sanders—the co-writer and director of the 2002 animated classic—will return as the screenwriter and voice of Stitch. Dean Fleischer Camp, who directed the 2025 live-action remake, was initially slated for a streaming release before the film pivoted to theatres. The original live-action reboot was a major box-office success, grossing over $1 billion globally and ranking among the top three Hollywood releases of 2025.
