Bhubaneswar, February 3: A five-day orientation workshop for Post Graduate Teachers (PGT), appointed in Government Higher Secondary Schools and Government Upgraded Higher Secondary Schools, under the School and Mass Education Department began on Tuesday here.

The induction workshop for the teachers is being organised in two phases, aimed at equipping them with new teaching methods. The first phase is being held from February 3 to February 7, while the second phase will be conducted from February 9 to February 13.

A total of 240 teachers from various disciplines will participate in these two phases. In the first phase, PGT teachers from Psychology, Zoology, Botany, Urdu, and Anthropology streams were taking part in the workshop.

The workshop is being held at the IMAGE in Siripur in Bhubaneswar.

The inaugural session was graced Regional Director of Higher Secondary Education, Berhampur, Ramesh Chandra Sethy, Directorate of Higher Secondary Education (DHSE) Joint Director Binita Senapati, UNICEF State Education Specialist Lalita Pattnaik among others.

On the occasion, Regional Director Sethy advised PGT teachers to ensure that a candid teaching atmosphere prevails in campus by identifying and addressing the gaps between teachers and students.

Experts leading the sessions will share practical tips on building stronger connections between students, and educational institutions to foster a collaborative educational environment.
