Mumbai, Dec 23: The makers of Drishyam 3 have officially announced the release date of the much-awaited film starring Ajay Devgn.

On Monday, the team confirmed that the film will hit theatres on October 2, 2026, marking a significant date in the franchise’s storyline.

In a new promo, the makers revealed that Drishyam 3 will release four years after the success of Drishyam 2, which premiered in 2022. Ajay Devgn will once again reprise his iconic role as Vijay Salgaonkar, the clever and calm family man from Goa.

Other beloved stars, including Tabu, Shriya Saran, and Rajat Kapoor, will also return for the third installment. Ishita Dutta and Mrunal Jadhav, who play Vijay's daughters, are also confirmed to reprise their roles. However, there has been no official announcement regarding the return of Akshaye Khanna, who played the cop in Drishyam 2. Fans are eagerly awaiting news on his involvement.

The filming of Drishyam 3 is currently underway, and it is expected to conclude in the first half of next year. A trailer is expected to drop sometime in 2026, building even more anticipation for the film’s release.

The Drishyam series, which is a remake of the Malayalam film of the same name, began in 2015 with the first film that followed Vijay Salgaonkar, a family man who uses his intelligence to protect his family after they become entangled in a murder case. Directed by Nishikant Kamat, Drishyam was a massive success, grossing ₹197 crore worldwide, leading to the creation of a sequel.

Drishyam 2, released in 2022, was even more successful, earning ₹345 crore worldwide. Following its overwhelming success, plans for Drishyam 3 were announced almost immediately.

The third film is being directed by Abhishek Pathak, who also co-wrote the screenplay alongside Aamil Keeyan Khan and Parveez Shaikh. Produced by Alok Jain, Ajit Andhare, Kumar Mangat Pathak, and Abhishek Pathak, Drishyam 3 is set to continue the gripping and thrilling story. A Malayalam version of Drishyam 3, starring Mammootty, is also expected to be released in 2026, adding to the excitement surrounding the franchise.

Fans are eagerly waiting for this next chapter in the Drishyam series, which has proven to be one of the most successful and gripping crime thrillers in Indian cinema.
