Bhubaneswar, February 14: A 76-year-old man lost his life, and at least nine others were injured in a terrifying bee attack in Kendrapara district, Odisha, police confirmed on Saturday.

The incident took place on Friday afternoon in Jaguleipada village, falling under the jurisdiction of the Rajkanika Police Station. According to a senior officer, a swarm of bees launched a sudden attack on the villagers, resulting in chaos.

Bailochan Biswal, the 76-year-old victim, succumbed to his injuries at the Kendrapara district headquarters hospital while undergoing treatment. Fortunately, the others who were injured in the attack received medical attention and were later discharged, the officer added.

A two-foot-long beehive was found on a tree located on the premises of the village school, believed to be the source of the attack.
