Maritime tracking systems lost sight of the ship temporarily on March 8. To avoid detection in the dangerous channel, the crew reportedly turned off their Automatic Identification System. This crucial radio transponder usually broadcasts a ship's location and identity to prevent crashes. The vessel reappeared safely on radars a day later, confirming its successful stealth passage through the contested zone.

Iran Issues Strict Warnings to Global Shipping

Regional tensions remain incredibly high. Iran's naval forces recently declared that any ship moving through this strategic chokepoint needs explicit permission from Tehran. Furthermore, an Iranian military commander confirmed that two other ships faced attacks on Wednesday after ignoring these strict protocols. State media notes that Iran guarantees safe passage only to vessels that do not serve American or Israeli interests. Roughly twenty percent of the world's oil flows through this narrow gap.
