Bhubaneswar, February 5: Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi chaired a pre-budget consultation with over 50 experts, emphasizing that the 2026-27 state budget will reflect public input. The meeting, held at Lok Seva Bhawan, highlighted the government's shift from bureaucratic decision-making to a more participatory approach.

CM Majhi stated, “Our government is the people’s government. The voice of the people is the voice of God,” ensuring that all suggestions will be analyzed and incorporated into the budget to make it a ‘people’s budget.’ He pointed to successful initiatives like the Chief Minister’s Kanya Bibah Yojana and upcoming programs such as the Shree Jagannath Darshan initiative and the Economic Corridor project, all shaped by public feedback.

The Chief Minister also praised Prime Minister Modi’s leadership for driving industrial growth and rural economy initiatives. To gather more input, the government has opened various channels like a web portal and SMS. During the session, CM Majhi instructed departments to evaluate suggestions for potential inclusion in the budget.

The meeting was attended by prominent leaders and experts, including former Finance Ministers and senior government officials, marking a key step towards inclusive development.
