Nabarangpur, Oct 31: Former Dabugaon MLA Bhujabal Majhi and his daughter Lipika Majhi are busy in visiting workers at grassroots level ahead of 2024 elections.
Lipika Majhi is now the zilla parishad member of zone - II in Papadahandi block.
According sources close to the former MLA, Bhujabal is lobbying MLA ticket for daughter Lipika from his home turf Dabugaon and he is interested to contest from Nabarangpur Lok Sabha seat.
Both the father-daughter duo is busy in strengthening organisation in their desired constituencies by attending socio-cultural programmes.
The BJD managed to defeat Bhujabal Majhi in Congress home turf Dabugaon in last election. This time his daughter has come forward and working at grassroots level to strengthen party organisation.
Similarly, Bhujabal is doing rounds in all the seven Assembly constituencies of Nabarangpur Lok Sabha seat.
I am visiting people with failures of the ruling party and Dabugaon is the home turf of Congress. The party will definitely return to power in 2024, said Bhujabal.
Voters in Nabarangpur Lok Sabha constituency are not satisfied with both BJP and BJD which will help Congress to give a tough fight. As former Congress MP Candidate Pradeep Majhi joined BJD, people of the constituency are welcoming Bhujabal as their leader.
During last panchayat elections, Lipika gave tough fight to BJD MLA Manohar Randhari and won zone -II out of three zones in Dabugaon constituency.
Bhujabal was elected from Dabugaon twice in 2014 and 2019 and lost by only 7,392 vote margin in 2019.
