Bhubaneswar, Aug 7:The 20837/20838 Bhubaneswar-Junagarh Road-Bhubaneswar Super Fast Express has undergone a significant upgrade, now featuring a rake of modern Linke Hofmann Busch (LHB) coaches. This upgrade aims to enhance the safety, comfort, and overall travel experience for passengers.
As per a press release from the East Coast Railway (ECoR), the new LHB coaches will begin service on the 20837/20838 Super Fast Express starting from Bhubaneswar on August 8, 2025, and from Junagarh Road on August 9, 2025. The train had previously been operating with conventional ICF coaches.
The newly upgraded train composition includes:
2nd AC: 02 Coaches
3rd AC: 04 Coaches
Sleeper Class: 05 Coaches
Second Class Seating: 04 Coaches
Guard cum Power Car: 01
Divyangjan-Friendly Coach: 01 Guard cum Second Class Coach for differently-abled passengers
The introduction of LHB coaches significantly enhances passenger amenities, ensuring better comfort and safety during the journey. These coaches are designed to improve operational efficiency and are more stable, especially at higher speeds, thus offering a smoother and safer ride.
This upgrade is a key development on the route that connects the coastal and tribal regions of Odisha, linking important towns in Odisha and Andhra Pradesh with the state capital, Bhubaneswar. Passengers traveling along this route will now experience improved facilities and a more comfortable journey.
