Bhubaneswar, Jan 22: Residents of Odisha's capital city Bhubaneswar have organised a host of activities to celebrate Lord Ram’s ‘Pranpratishtha’ ceremony in Ayodhya today.
All most all Hindu families residing in different localities of the city have lit diyas in their homes and decorated their houses, responding to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s call to citizens of the country to illuminate ‘Shri Ram Jyoti’.
Several residential societies and temples are hosting spiritual events. Similarly, elaborate arrangements have been made by temple trusts for a grand celebration of the special occasion. Playing of devotional songs across temples in the city from the wee hours has created a spiritual atmosphere.
Arrangements have been made to light up 1008 diyas at Sri Lingaraj temple along with recitation of Hanuman Chalisa. Similarly, 1008 diyas will be lit in Gokhi Baba temple and Kapileswar Shrine in the city.
Ram bhajans will also be recited by professional artistes as part of the celebration on several temple premises in the evening.
