Bhubaneswar Police warn of traffic congestion for Hanuman Jayanti

Bhubaneswar, Ap 14: The Commissionerate Police on Monday issued a detailed traffic advisory ahead of Hanuman Jayanti and Maha Bishuba Sankranti celebrations on April 14, warning commuters of potential congestion, diversions, and temporary road closures across the city.

Authorities said multiple religious processions, padayatras, bike and cycle rallies will be organised by temple committees, clubs, and other organisations in Bhubaneswar and surrounding areas, likely affecting major traffic routes.

Key processions will pass through areas including Jatni, Balipatna, Balianta, Jagamara, Barimunda, Rasulgarh, Vani Vihar, Kalinga Stadium, and Master Canteen. Heavy traffic is expected along Raj Mahal Square, Ram Mandir, Airport Square, Sishu Bhawan Square, Ganganagar, and Nicco Park Square.

The advisory specifies time slots for each rally, with overlapping events expected to intensify congestion during peak hours. Police Commissioner Suresh Dev Datta Singh urged commuters to plan ahead and use alternative routes.

Traffic personnel will be stationed at key junctions to ensure smooth movement and minimize disruption during the festivities.
