
Bhubaneswar, September 1 : A new Passenger Halt at Taraboi, situated between Khurda Road and Khurda Town Railway Stations on the Khurda Road–Balangir Rail Line, was inaugurated today by Bhubaneswar Lok Sabha MP Aparajita Sarangi.
Sarangi expressed her delight at the opening of the halt, highlighting its benefits for residents of Taraboi and nearby Gram Panchayats, particularly students and faculty from IIT Bhubaneswar, NISER, and other educational institutions. With four pairs of trains now stopping at Taraboi, daily commuters will enjoy increased convenience. The halt will also improve access to healthcare, education, and tourism spots like Barunei Hills, Khurda Fort, and Barunei Temple.
Divisional Railway Manager Alok Tripathi emphasized the importance of the halt in fulfilling local demands and improving connectivity in the region. The halt, approved in January 2024, was completed in September 2025 at a cost of ₹80 lakhs and offers modern amenities such as drinking water, waiting halls, platform shelters, lighting, and toilets.
Four pairs of trains now stop at the halt, including:
