Cuttack, Sept 3: A man reportedly jumped off the Jobra Barrage into the Mahanadi in the Cuttack City on Tuesday.
The man identified as Mrityunjaya Manika who hails from the Mancheswar Industrial estate in Bhubaneswar, is so far missing in the water.
According to reports, a case of drowning came to fore today after a black scooter and a pair of chappals was traced on the barrage which remained unclaimed for hours.
On being informed by the locals and onlookers, the Fire Service personnel rushed to the spot launched a search operation to rescue the missing one but in vain.
The operation was not successful till 9 PM, said report.
