Bhubaneswar, April 30: The Directorate of Technical Education and Training (DTET), Odisha has planned to set up a world class welding workshop at Industrial Training Institute (ITI), Bhubaneswar.
ITI students will be provided training on use of modern technologies instead of traditional ones with practical classes to work at international level.
The School of Welding Excellence will be established by DTET in collaboration with Thyssenkrupp.
The School of Welding Excellence will have high-end machineries, reality simulator along with virtual reality (VR) and augmented reality (AR) labs.
The Thyssenkrupp will provide Rs 2 crore funding in the first phase. It will also provide all necessary equipments. A joint executive committee will oversee the setting up of the School of Welding Excellence. Initially, facilities will be available to train 48 students in the first phase.
