Bhubaneswar, Aug 5: Bhubaneswar will host the three-day BRICS Education Ministers' Meeting from August 5 to 7, bringing together education ministers, senior officials, and delegates from BRICS member nations and partner countries to discuss strengthening global cooperation in education.

More than 10 countries are expected to participate in the conference, which is being organised by the Union Ministry of Education. Union Education Minister Pralhad Joshi is scheduled to attend the high-level event.

The meeting will focus on several key areas, including strengthening Early Childhood Care and Education (ECCE), expanding skill development and collaboration under the BRICS Technical and Vocational Cooperation Agenda (TCA), promoting research, innovation, and startups, enhancing the mutual recognition of educational qualifications, and building leadership capacity in educational institutions.

India, which is chairing the BRICS 2026 summit, has adopted the theme "Building Resilience, Innovation, Cooperation and Sustainability" for this year's engagements. The discussions are expected to contribute to deeper academic collaboration and policy coordination among BRICS nations.

The conference will also feature the 13th BRICS Education Ministers' Meeting and the Third Senior Officials' Meeting, where recommendations emerging from earlier education-track discussions will be reviewed. The first and second senior officials' meetings were held on April 7 and April 28, respectively.

Among the international delegations, representatives from Iran have already arrived in India to participate in the conference, while delegations from other member countries are expected to join the deliberations over the next three days.

The event is expected to further strengthen educational partnerships among BRICS nations and promote collaboration in innovation, skills, higher education, and sustainable development.
