Bhubaneswar, July 26: In a solemn candlelight march held on Thursday, the Central Bureau of Communication (CBC) Bhubaneswar office, under the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Government of India, honoured the 25th Kargil Vijay Diwas. The event paid tribute to the courage and sacrifice of the Indian soldiers who laid down their lives during the Kargil War of 1999.
The march began at Sainik School, Bhubaneswar, and proceeded towards Acharya Vihar. Participants included students, their parents, officials from various government departments, Colonel Balu Bharat, Principal of Sainik School, and other school staff. Mahendra Prasad Jena, Field Exhibition Officer at CBC Bhubaneswar, oversaw the event, which aimed to instil a sense of patriotism and share the heroic stories of the martyrs with the younger generation.
In recognition of the bravery and dedication of these heroes, the Government of India is observing Kargil Vijay Diwas nationwide on July 26. CBC Bhubaneswar has also scheduled additional programmes at Sainik School on July 26 and 27. These events will further educate students and the public about the heroic contributions of India's brave soldiers.
