Bhubaneswar, Oct 7: Nayapalli Durga Puja Samiti is gearing up for a grand celebration this year, marking 38 years since its humble beginnings in 1988. This year's theme features stunning terracotta theme, drawing in crowds expected to reach lakhs from Sasthi to Dashami.

According to Premananda Jena, a founding member and the first general secretary of the Nayapalli Durga Puja Committee, "We hire expert artisans from Kolkata from the start. Our impressive gates and medhas have gained recognition, winning first prize on several occasions." This year's structures will rise to heights of 80 and 140 feet, creating a striking visual impact.

The pandal is crafted using eco-friendly materials such as bamboo, clay, plywood, herbal colors, and biodegradable items, significantly reducing environmental impact.

To ensure the safety of devotees, the puja pandal will be equipped with 20 to 100 CCTV cameras, monitored by police personnel. The festivities will also feature traditional dance and music, celebrating the rich cultural heritage of the capital.

In view of expected crowds, the committee has emphasized stringent security and crowd management measures, deploying over 100 volunteers to ensure a smooth flow of the celebration.
