Bhubaneswar, Oct 8: This year’s Durga Puja festival will feature a unique focus on Lord Hanuman, along with the traditional worship of Goddess Durga at Nayapalli. The Shree Shree Akhandalamani Seva Samaj and the Mahabir Puja Committee in Nayapalli are organizing this special initiative, marking its 15th anniversary.
To celebrate the occasion, a grand entrance measuring 50 feet wide and 40 feet tall is being constructed. The centerpiece will be a towering 16-foot idol of Hanuman, displayed on a 20-foot pedestal, crafted by artisans from Kolkata who are working tirelessly to ensure its splendor.
The worship rituals will begin on the seventh day with the arrival of the sacred "Ajna Mala" from Goddess Bimala. A ‘kalash’ will be established at the pandal using water sourced from a local pond in Nayapalli. The festivities will come to an end on the tenth day with the ceremonial completion of the rituals.
Each evening will feature cultural programs. Prasad will be provided for around 500 devotees daily. To ensure safety and manage the crowd, a team of 100 volunteers will collaborate with the police, supported by the installation of 10 CCTV cameras.
