With just a few days remaining for Durga Puja, the Cuttack Road Business Association has kicked off preparations for the festive season

Bhubaneswar, Sept 26: With just a few days remaining for Durga Puja 2024, the Cuttack Road Business Association has kicked off preparations for the festive season. The association, which includes traders from Hindu, Sikh, and Muslim communities, is set to celebrate its 44th Durga Utsav this year, generating considerable enthusiasm among the workers.

In a unique tribute to culture, the association has chosen to recreate the stunning architecture of the Padmavati Palace from Chittorgarh, Rajasthan. A magnificent gate, towering 80 feet high and 120 feet wide, will be constructed for the occasion. The main idol, including its pedestal, will stand at 16 feet and will be adorned with 1 quintal of exquisite jewelry.

The budget allocated for this year’s celebrations is Rs 40 lakh. Offerings (prasad) will be presented to Maa Durga starting from the sixth day, culminating in a special dish on Dashami featuring traditional Dahi Pakhal and Charu Anna.

In addition to the religious observances, traditional musical performances will be a highlight of the festivities, enriching the cultural experience for all attendees.
