Bhubaneswar, Sept 30: Residents of the capital are gearing up for the upcoming Durga Puja festivities, creating a vibrant festive atmosphere. With a few days left for Maa Durga Puja, the Badagada Durga Puja Committee, Bhubaneswar is all set to celebrate its 40th Durga Puja 2024 this year.

This year, the idol of Maa Durga will be adorned with even more elaborate decorations than in previous years, as emphasized by committee members. The budget for this year's celebrations has been set at Rs 39 lakhs. A grand arch will be complemented by six LED light gates, enhancing the visual appeal of the festivities.

Numerous arrangements have been made for ‘prasad’ to the goddess. Starting from the sixth day, devotees will be served a variety of prasad, including ‘Annaprasad’, ‘Kheer’, ‘Khichdi’, and ‘Pitha’. After the offering of ‘Shankhudi Bhoga’ on the ninth day, prasad will be distributed. On the tenth day, ‘pakhala’ will be offered to the goddess.

From the seventh to the tenth day, renowned artists will perform cultural programs in the evenings. The committee has mobilized 40 members of the committee to oversee crowd and vehicle management during the celebrations. Moreover the police personnel will ensure security, and monitor activities under14 CCTV cameras. Traditional music and folk dance will also be an integral part of the festivities, promising a rich cultural experience for all attendees.
