Bhubaneswar, Oct 1: The vibrant spirit of the upcoming Durga Puja festival has transformed the Smart City into a festive hub with the puja mandap ready to resonate with the sounds of mantras and conch shells. The Jharpada Durga Puja Committee is all set to welcome the Goddess with magnificent ‘Imperial Palace'- themed pandal this year.
Illuminated decorations will dazzle the entire area, making it a feast for the eyes. This year marks the 14th anniversary of the Jharpada Durga Puja Committee.
The entrance archway is set to reach a height of 85 feet and a width of 150 feet.
The design will incorporate five LED gates featuring traditional, spiritual, and tribal narratives, with a stunning 12-foot clay idol of the goddess. The goddess will be adorned with a silver crown, following Bengali traditions. Throughout the festival, devotees will be offered ‘Khichdi’ on Saptami, Navami, and Dashami, with ‘Halwa’ on Ashtami.
An information center will provide immediate assistance, along with medical facilities for emergencies. Special chairs will be available for the elderly and differently-abled devotees.
Cultural programs showcasing renowned artists from Bhubaneswar and Cuttack will take place every evening from Sixth day to Tenth day.
