With just a few days remaining for Durga Puja 2024, the Saheed Nagar Puja Committee has kicked off preparations for the festive season.

Bhubaneswar, Sept 30: With just a few days remaining for Durga Puja 2024, the Saheed Nagar Puja Committee has kicked off preparations for the festive season. This year, the committee aims to create an enchanting ambiance by using eco-friendly materials.

The committee has chosen to recreate the stunning Disneyland.

Over 80 artisans from West Bengal are working tirelessly on the elaborate decorations. The entrance archway is set to reach a height of 105 feet and a width of 120 feet, adorned with gold and silver decorations, and featuring traditional weapons associated with Maa Durga.

A major attraction this year will be the stunning idol of the goddess, crafted by local artisans from Cuttack. The rituals will follow traditional customs, reminiscent of the 1978 practices. Prasad include a variety of sweets such as’ laddus’ and ‘khaja’, prepared in honor of the goddess. Specific rituals will take place on the seventh, eighth, ninth, and tenth days, featuring different offerings each day.

Daily arrangements for prasad distribution will be made for the devotees, who can also enjoy ‘bhajan samaroh’ throughout the festival. In view of expected crowds, the committee has emphasized stringent security and crowd management measures, deploying over 100 volunteers to ensure a smooth flow of the celebration.
