Bhubaneswar, Oct 8: Chakeisihani Durga Puja Committee is gearing up for a grand celebration this year, marking 23 years since its humble beginnings in 2001 with just 50 members.
This year's highlight will be an impressive pandal inspired by Belur Math, towering at 24 feet. A dedicated team of 52 artisans from Bengal is working diligently around the clock to bring this vision to life. A magnificent 14-foot idol of Maa Durga will be featured, along with other deities crafted by local artisans from the Baranga area.
To create a vibrant experience for devotees, the committee is investing over Rs 28 lakh. They are collaborating with local groups, including the Chakeisihani market committee, youth clubs, and residents, to ensure the celebration is a resounding success.
The festivities will also include illuminated street decorations and light gates. Cultural programs are on the agenda, with two nights dedicated to melodious music and another for devotional songs. To engage the younger crowd, there will be dance and talent shows showcasing local talent.
