Cuttack Road, Oct 16: Goddess Durga and side deities will wear 85 kg silver ornaments at Cuttack Road pandal this year.
The Cuttack Road Byabasayi Sangha is all set to welcome the Goddess with Gujarat's Lakshmi Vilas Palace themed pandal this year.
The design of the palace is unique and artists are working for over a month to give it shape using bamboo, plywood, fibre, sunpack sheets and other materials, said an artisan.

Members of the Byabasayi Sangha said the pandal will be a staggering 120 ft tall and 70 ft wide and the idol will be 15 ft tall.
This year's budget is Rs 20 lakh. Eight CCTV cameras will be installed and 80 volunteers, including women, will be deployed to manage the crowd.
Besides, melody and other cultural programmes have been arranged for five days starting from Sasthi. Prasad will be prepared for over 3,000 devotees on Asthami.
Similarly, Chandrasekharpur Phase - 1 Housing Board Durga Puja committee is celebrating the 34th year with a unique style.

This year, the committee has decided to stage Ramlila on Asthami, Nabami and Ravan Badha on Dashami instead of Ravan Podi in a bid to avoid pollution. Four quintal laddu will be distributed among the colony residents on Nabami.
