Bhubaneswar, December 21: A tragic accident occurred on Sunday at Chilika Lake when Kushagra Divya, a tourist from Jharkhand, drowned while bathing at the lake's mouth. Divya was part of a group of 15 employees from a private company in Bhubaneswar who had visited the site.

The group arrived at the Chilika-Sea confluence from Baghamunda Jetty, traveling in two boats. While bathing, Divya was caught by the strong currents and was swept away.

The Brahmagiri fire brigade was promptly notified and rushed to the scene, recovering the body. Local Brahmagiri police also arrived, taking custody of the body for further investigation.

This devastating incident has left the tourist group deeply shaken, overshadowing what was meant to be a memorable visit.
