Patna, November 13: Comprehensive security measures have been put in place ahead of the vote counting for the Bihar assembly elections, set to take place on Friday across 46 centres in 38 districts. Authorities have announced that all schools in Patna will remain closed on the day, due to the counting process.

Bihar saw a record voter turnout of 67.13% in the assembly elections, held in two phases on November 6 and November 11, to elect representatives for the 243-member legislative assembly.

A total of 7.45 crore voters cast their ballots to determine the fate of 2,616 candidates.

Security and logistical arrangements for counting have been set up across all 243 constituencies.

The counting will be overseen by the respective Returning Officers, assisted by Counting Observers, and will be conducted in the presence of candidates or their authorized agents.
