Bhadrak, Jul 16: As devotees across Odisha offer their prayers in unique ways during the grand Jagannath Rath Yatra, a craftsman from Bhadrak district has captured attention by creating what are believed to be among the smallest functional chariots dedicated to the Holy Trinity.
Gopal Samal, an artisan from Chudakuti village under Dhamnagar block in Bhadrak district, has handcrafted three miniature chariots for Lord Jagannath, Lord Balabhadra, and Goddess Subhadra to mark the sacred festival.
Working tirelessly for two days, Samal used Tulsi wood and Sal wood to create the intricate replicas. Each chariot stands just 4 centimetres tall, making them remarkably small while retaining the traditional design of the original Rath Yatra chariots.
What makes the miniature creations even more impressive is that they are fully functional. Despite their tiny size, all three chariots can be pulled just like the actual Rath Yatra chariots, showcasing the artisan's precision craftsmanship and devotion.
The unique offering has drawn admiration from locals and devotees, highlighting how the spirit of Rath Yatra inspires creativity and heartfelt expressions of faith across Odisha.
