Puri, Feb 6: A college girl was seriously injured in a brutal attack while on her way to appear for the +2 exam at Gop College on Friday morning. The incident occurred around 8 a.m. on a lonely road, under the jurisdiction of Gop Police Station.

According to reports, the student was riding her bicycle to the college when a miscreant suddenly attacked her with a blade. Locals rushed to the scene after hearing her screams, prompting the attacker to flee.

The girl sustained multiple injuries on her back and body and was immediately admitted to Gop Medical in critical condition. Police have launched an investigation, but the motive behind the attack remains unclear.

Authorities are appealing to anyone with information about the assailant to come forward.
