Perth, Sep 6: India had the last laugh in the last couple of editions of Border-Gavaskar Trophy. But it is not only the Indian batters or their quality spin attack that have helped the Indians dominate formidable Australians in the Test series.
Ahead of India's tour to Down Under for the next Border-Gavaskar Trophy, Australia Test skipper Pat Cummins had sounded the alarm bell stating it would be a tough contest. Cummins has clarified that Australia will fight hard this time.
But batting mainstay of the Aussie squad Marnus Labuschagne admitted the formidable pace battery of India makes them a "difficult" side to beat in Australian conditions. Australia have not won the Border-Gavaskar Trophy for nearly a decade.
I recent years, India have won every bilateral Test series against Australia since losing 1-2 in an away affair in 2014-15. They have recorded identical 2-1 series wins in 2018-19 and 2020-21 Down Under to remain on top.
Australia and India were the finalists in the last World Test Championships, with the Aussies winning the trophy and Team India finishing runners-up for the consecutive second time.
