BCCI unveils world-class cricket academy in Bengaluru

Indian cricket has just received a major upgrade! The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has inaugurated a brand-new, world-class National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bengaluru. This facility, renamed as the BCCI Centre of Excellence (CoE), is set to revolutionize cricket training and development in India.

Located near Kempegowda International Airport, the sprawling 40-acre campus boasts everything a budding cricketer could dream of: three stunning grounds with lush green outfields, 86 pitches of various types (including indoor and outdoor options), a cutting-edge sports science and medicine center, and even a luxurious 45,000 square foot pavilion with a jacuzzi and massage room!

The CoE is designed to nurture talent and provide aspiring cricketers with the best possible training environment. Ground A, the main ground, features an 85-yard boundary and 13 meticulously maintained pitches, along with floodlights and broadcasting facilities for hosting matches under lights. Grounds B and C offer dedicated practice areas with 75-yard boundaries and a variety of pitch types to simulate different playing conditions.

But it's not just about the grounds. The indoor facilities are equally impressive, with eight pitches, a state-of-the-art gym, and a sports science lab equipped with the latest technology. There's even a recovery area with a jacuzzi, sauna, and underwater pool spa – perfect for helping athletes unwind and recover after grueling training sessions.

The BCCI CoE is the brainchild of Secretary Jay Shah, who envisions it as a hub for developing not just cricketers, but athletes across various disciplines. The state-of-the-art sports science and medicine facilities will be open to leading Indian Olympians, contributing to the overall growth of the Indian sports ecosystem.
