Cuttack, June 20: The long wait for hosting an international cricket match again at the iconic Barabati Stadium, here seems to be over finally.
As per informed sources, Barabati Stadium will host the second One-Day International between India and England on February 9, 2025.
Sources said, as per the fixtures schedule announced by the BCCI for the international home season of Team India (senior men) for 2024-25, an ODI match between India and England will be played at the Barabati Stadium in Cuttack on February 9, 2025. The match will be played during the tour of England to India at the start of the next year.
Both sides are scheduled to play five T20Is and three ODIs during their tour.
England's tour of India:
1st T20I: Jan 22, 2025, Chennai
2nd T20I: Jan 25, Kolkata
3rd T20I: Jan 28, Rajkot
4th T20I: Jan 31, Pune
5th T20I: Feb 2, Mumbai
1st ODI: Feb 6, Nagpur
2nd ODI: Feb 9, Cuttack
3rd ODI: Feb 12, Ahmedabad.
The 45,000-capacity Barabati Stadium, last hosted an international cricket match on December 22, 2019, when hosts India defeated visitors West Indies by four wickets.
Since its establishment in 1958, Barabati Stadium located on the bank of River Mahanadi, has hosted three Tests, 27 ODIs and three Twenty International matches.
It would be after more than five long years that Barabati would be hosting ain international cricket match.
