Bhubaneswar, March 17: Monideepa Sarkhel, the wife of Congress leader Bapi Sarkhel, joined Biju Janata Dal (BJD) along with her supporters on Sunday. Her husband, Bapi Sarkhel, currently holds the position of Executive Chairman of Paradip-Ersama Industrial Development Council.

In addition to Monideepa, seven independent councillors who secured victory in Paradip Muncipality election with Bapi’s support also joined the BJD. The councillors include Pritilata Raut, Jayanti Madeli, Swapanarani Jena, Banita Raut, Shukramani Nag, Soudamini Raut, Runibala Parida, and Jagana Rao Kamla.
BJD MP Manas Mangaraj welcomed them to party. They were inducted into the party at party headquarters here in presence of Nayagarh MLA and Jagatsinghpur observer Arun Sahu and Paradip MLA Sambit Rautray.

Monideepa expressed that she is inspired by the Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik’s development-oriented approach. She emphasized that the Chief Minister is attentive to all and prioritizes action over mere words.
Furthermore, Monideepa praised Naveen Patnaik as an ideal Chief Minister. His work ethic and impeccable reputation serve as an inspiration to her and others, she said.
