Jharsuguda, Oct 11: A banner war has erupted in Jharsuguda with scores of banners of two BJD MLAs Alaka Mohanty and Dipali Das surfacing in the town ahead of Durga Puja celebrations.
The family members of two late BJD leaders – Kishore Mohanty and Naba Das are leaving no opportunity to show their strength by putting up banners wishing Jharsuguda residents for Durga Puja.
Kishore Mohanty used to manage the Durga Puja at Mangal Bazar organised by Shibashakti Durga Puja Committee. After his untimely demise on December 30, 2021, the committee had celebrated the puja in a low key manner. This year his wife and Brajrajnagar MLA Alaka Mohanty has come forward.
Similarly, Naba Das was the managing head of Durga Puja celebration at Sarabahal by Omm Shree Puja Committee.
Kishore Mohanty, a three time MLA from the Jharsuguda Assembly constituency contested from Brajarajnagar Assembly seat in the 2019 elections after Congress leader Naba Das joined BJD.
This year, both the families and their supporters are trying their best to show their strength in Jharsuguda Assembly constituency to prove it as their home turf.
