Chandiposh, Dec 23: The bodies of a young man and woman were found in the Brahmani River near Biratola Temple, under the jurisdiction of Chandiposh police, in Sundargarh district on Monday. Initial reports indicate that both deceased individuals were residents of Rourkela.

The incident came to light when local residents spotted the bodies in the river and quickly alerted both the police and fire services. Rescue teams were dispatched to the location and conducted a search and recovery operation. After hours of effort, the bodies were retrieved.

The bodies have been sent for post-mortem examination to determine the exact cause of death. While some locals speculate that the pair may have died by suicide after jumping into the river, others have raised concerns about the possibility of foul play. Police have stated that it is too early to draw any conclusions.

A case has been registered, and the police have launched an investigation to piece together the circumstances surrounding the incident. Authorities are exploring all potential leads and are awaiting the autopsy results for more information.

Further updates are expected as the investigation continues.
