Bhubaneswar, Sept 7: Banks in Odisha will remain closed on September (Monday) for Nuakhai, a significant festivity of Western Odisha.
According to a government’s notification issued by the Revenue & Disaster Management Department, other financial institutions apart from all banks across the state will also remain shut for the customers on Monday, on account of the ‘Nuakhai’.
Earlier, the state government had announced the Monday as a holiday for all the government, government-aided and private schools, offices and magisterial courts in the state for Nuakhai.
Worth mentioning, the Nuakhai festival is going to be celebrated in almost 9 districts in the Western Odisha on September 8 (Sunday). As the festival falls on Sunday, the government announced the next day (Monday) a public holiday.
