Bank manager sentenced to 4 years’ rigorous imprisonment in a graft case

Bhubaneswar, Jan 30: CBI Special Judge, Bhubaneswar has sentenced a bank manager of Odisha Gramya Bank in Dhenkanal district to 4 years’ rigorous imprisonment in a bribery case. 

CBI had registered a case on August 08, 2016 against Duryodhan Sethy, Branch Manager, Odisha Gramya Bank, Dadaraghati Branch, on allegations of demanding bribe from complainant for processing a poultry loan proposal for Rs. 4.25 lakh in favour of his wife.

A trap was laid and CBI caught the accused while accepting Rs 5000 as bribe money on August 09. After the investigation, chargesheet was filed on October 27. The court held the accused guilty after trial.
