​​​​​​​Bhubaneswar, Jan 14: The Odisha government is all set to extend reservation provision for OBC and SC & SC students in Medical & Engineering Education.

The Odisha government is considering to introducing almost 11.25% seat reservation for OBC classes, at least 16.25% for SC & 22.5% for the SC classes.

The extended reservation benefits will be implemented in medical and engineering studies from the current academic year.

According to reports, based on recommendations of the Policy Formulation Committee of the Skill Development and Technical Education Department, the government is going to approve the extended reservation provisi

The government is also considering to double the reservation quota for Scheduled Castes (SC) and Scheduled Tribes (ST) in medical and engineering institutions. As per the recommendations, SC reservation is likely to be increased from 8 per cent to 16.25 per cent, while ST reservation may rise from 12 per cent to 22.5 per cent.
