Bhubaneswar, June 23: The dream of pursuing higher education for meritorious tribal student Bailochan Juang is finally becoming a reality. After completing the admission application process, Bailochan has secured a seat at BJB College, Bhubaneswar, fulfilling his long-cherished aspiration of studying at one of Odisha’s premier educational institutions.

Earlier, Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi had directed concerned departments to ensure all necessary support for the student. Following these instructions, BJB College released its first selection list on Monday, in which Bailochan’s name appeared. He has been asked to complete the admission process by Wednesday.

The Chief Minister has also instructed the district administration to provide all required assistance for Bailochan’s education. Acting on these directions, the District Collector has asked officials to extend immediate financial aid through the Red Cross Fund and the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund.

Bailochan’s struggle for higher education had attracted widespread attention across Odisha. His determination to continue his studies despite severe financial hardships touched many and sparked public discussion. Responding to the situation, the state government initiated measures to support the young student.

Higher Education Minister Suryabanshi Suraj personally spoke with Bailochan and assured him of all possible assistance. He pledged support both on behalf of the state government and in his personal capacity to ensure the student’s academic journey continues without obstacles.

The Higher Education Department had also directed the principal of Pateswar College to assist Bailochan in completing the admission formalities. With the support of the college administration, he successfully submitted his application.

Bailochan, a member of the Juang tribal community, secured an impressive 83 percent marks in the Plus Two examinations. However, financial constraints forced him to work at a hotel in Jhumpara, where he washed used utensils to earn money for his education. His story of perseverance and dedication has now become an inspiration, with government support helping him take a significant step toward achieving his academic goals.
