Paradip, Feb 13: Paradip is set to get a Blue Flag Beach, marking a significant step in boosting tourism and overall development in the region. Odisha Chief Secretary Anu Garg, during a visit to Paradip, reviewed the beach construction project and discussed development plans with Jagatsinghpur District officials, including the Collector and SP, as well as other authorities.

The Blue Flag Beach will be developed along a 7-kilometer stretch at seashore on the Bay of Bengal coast. In the first phase, 3 kilometers of the beach will be completed, with authorities aiming to finish work by the end of September.

Chief Secretary Garg also highlighted ongoing discussions with the Paradip municipality, port authorities, and industrial organizations to ensure holistic development of the port town.

Once completed, the Blue Flag Beach is expected to become a major tourist attraction, drawing visitors from across India and abroad, similar to the popular beaches of Goa. The project aims to create direct and indirect economic opportunities for the local population while enhancing Odisha’s reputation in the tourism sector.

The Odisha government is also developing an economic corridor linking Puri, Paradip, and Bhubaneswar, which is expected to further accelerate Paradip’s growth and transform the region into a key economic and tourist hub.
