Bhubaneswar: Odisha senior Wushu team have made the state proud by winning six medals including two gold, one silver and three bronze medals in the six day long 33rd Senior National Wushu Championship 2024, which concluded at Maharana Pratap Stadium, Dehradun, Uttarakhand on Thursday.
Babulu Munda and Payal Pattnaik won gold medal each in the men 48kg Sanda and Wingchun Women Taolu events respectively, while Nupur Pattnaik won a silver medal in the Women single women Taolu event and she also won a bronze in the women nan-style Taolu event.
Odisha’s other two bronze medallists were Bikash Bag (men nan-style Taolu) and Manju Munda Sanda (Women 45kg Sanda).
A 50-member squad including 42 players , 4 officials and 4 Judges of Odisha senior wushu team participated in the national meet. The team was accompanied by Pankaj Mahata and Sujan Rath as coaches. Odisha’s Pradyumna Behera acted as Head Judge of this championship
