Babbar Khalsa Terrorist Extradited to India from UAE
In a major success for Indian law enforcement, a wanted terrorist affiliated with the Babbar Khalsa International (BKI), Parminder Singh alias Pindi, has been successfully extradited from the United Arab Emirates to India. The operation, a result of close international cooperation, brings a key figure accused of multiple serious crimes back to Punjab to face justice.
A Key Operative in a Terror Network
Parminder Singh is alleged to be a close associate of prominent foreign-based terrorists Harwinder Singh alias Rinda and Happy Passia. He is accused of being a central figure in a series of heinous crimes in the Batala-Gurdaspur region of Punjab, including orchestrating petrol bomb attacks, carrying out violent assaults, and running extortion rackets. His capture and return are considered a significant blow to the operational capabilities of the BKI network in the region.
A Coordinated International Effort
The successful extradition was the culmination of a meticulously coordinated effort between multiple agencies. The process was initiated after Batala Police requested an international alert, leading Interpol to issue a Red Corner Notice (RCN) for Singh's arrest.
Following his detention in Abu Dhabi, a specialized four-member team from the Punjab Police was dispatched to the UAE. Working in close collaboration with India's Ministry of External Affairs and UAE authorities, the team completed the necessary legal formalities, securing his custody and ensuring his return to India.
A Message of "Zero Tolerance"
Punjab's Director General of Police, Gaurav Yadav, hailed the operation as a testament to the state's "zero-tolerance policy towards terrorism and organised crime." He extended his gratitude to the central agencies and the government of the UAE for their invaluable cooperation, highlighting the operation's success as a clear demonstration of the Punjab Police's advanced investigative capabilities and global reach. The extradition reinforces a strong message that fugitives involved in terror activities against India will be pursued and brought to justice, regardless of their location.
