Rayagada, Feb 11: In a shocking incident late Tuesday night, a battery-powered scooter caught fire at a residence in the Pitamahal area of Rayagada district.
The fire occurred at the home of Advocate Bipru Pradhan, where the scooter had been parked. Sources indicate that the scooter had been purchased just 15 days ago. While the family was asleep, the electric scooter suddenly ignited, rapidly engulfing the vehicle in flames. The fire quickly spread, destroying the scooter, a washing machine, and a wooden door in the process.
The cause of the fire is suspected to be an electrical short circuit. Fortunately, no injuries were reported in the incident.
