Chhatrapur, Jan 6: With an objective to strengthen livelihoods and entrepreneurship among rural women, Adani Foundation launched a training programme for women members of Self-Help Groups (SHGs) and Producer Groups (PGs) in the peripheral panchayats of Gopalpur Port.

The three-day long training programme for the first batch of 60 women SHG and PG members started today. Same training will also be extended to other Gram Panchayats including Aryapalli, Kalipalli, Sriramchandrapur and Camakhandi. The programme is designed to benefit around 300 women SHG and PG members across these panchayats.

The training programme was inaugurated by Tahsildar, Chhatrapur Mrinalika Rathore in the presence of local panchayat representatives, officials from Odisha Livelihood Mission, Director, Fragrance Flavor Development Corporation and Gopalpur Port.

Addressing the gathering, Mrinalika Rathore said that the knowledge and skills acquired by the women through such training programmes would not remain limited to them alone, but would be passed onto their family members, thereby benefiting future generations as well.

The training focuses on SHG and PG functioning, record keeping, entrepreneurship development, financial literacy, loan schemes and livelihood opportunities including Kewda cultivation.
