G. Udayagiri, Nov 21: A skeletal remains, believed to belong to a missing teenager, was found in the Hathibadi forest area of Kandhamal district, said Bijay Kumar Bishi, the IIC of G.Udayagiri subdivision.

The teenager, identified as Chandra Pradhan from Barapali village, had been reported missing on October 10, 2023. His family had filed a written complaint at the Chakapada police station in this regard. Following this, the Chakapada police launched a search operation in various locations to find the missing boy.

Some locals spotted a skeleton near the Hathibadi forest.

Being informed, the Chakapada police quickly arrived at the scene. After inspecting the remains, the family members of the missing teenager identified the clothing and a chain that he had been wearing, confirming that the body belonged to Chandra.

In response, Chakapada police have registered a case of unnatural death and begun an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident.
