Perth, Sep 4: Ever since World Test Championship (WTC) has been started by the International Cricket Council (ICC), the craze for the multi-day red-ball game has certainly increased.

India though have been the most consistent side in the WTC so far, with two runners-up finishes, but New Zealand and Australia have lifted the trophy of the two editions held so far.

The Kiwis won the maiden edition, while the Aussies emerged winners in the second one.

Ace Australian spinner Nathan Lyon has been an integral part of the Australian Test team for years. He was part of the WTC title-winning squad as well.

Lyon however has suggested a different plan for the title decider. He put forward a three-match series held across different countries to decide the winner of the WTC championship.

Though he understands that such a format would require more time and schedule-constraint, but  Lyon believes that a multi-match final would more accurately decide the winner.

Reacting on the two-year format, the Aussie off-spinner has praised the existing practice stating it sets  apart from other competitions in cricket by demanding consistent performances over an extended period.
