Bhubaneswar, Sept 20: Brutal attack of Bharatpur police on an Army Captain and his fiancée, has now put the Commissionerate police in soup.

As many as five police personnel including the IIC and two Women ASIs associated with the case have been suspended yet with criminal cases, initiated against them by the Odisha Crime Branch.

On the other hand, the Army officer’s fiancée Jagruti (dummy name) Pradhan is undergoing treatment in the AIIMS, Bhubaneswar, who was directly shifted from the Jharpada jail with reportedly grievious injuries in her body.

Amid the ethical question raised by the denizens on the immoral act of the Bharatpur Police by allegedly manhandling a girl in the police station, right before her fiancé who is a high-rank Officer in the Indian Army, partial CCTV footage featuring the fateful night has gone viral.

The CCTV footage supposedly recorded in a bar named RN Food Venture-66, located in the BBi Complex at Chandrasekharpur featured that the Army Captain and her fiancée were enjoying the night at about 1.34 AM on September 15, shaking legs among some youngsters in tune with wetern music.

Another, CCTV footage, of course recorded with the street cameras or someone’s domestic camera fillted along the Chandrasekharpur-Bharatpur road, featured that a group of miscreants were molesting the Captain’s fiancée on the road. It is also seen in the footage that the Army officer with the help of another youngster, is protesting the miscreants and hardly managing his fiancée to push her into a car, troubleshooting her from the ordeal.

The episode featured inside the Bhartpur Police station almost with one’s smartphone shows the arrogance of a girl who was heard shouting before the cops. She was also seen knocking the door of a chamber closed from the inside, urging the insider awake promptly.   Meanwhile, a woman duded up in civil dress was found saying something like, not to knock the door so discordantly. However, the girl continued with knocking the door while a woman cop was found coming into the scene. Later, a tug-of war broke out between the girl and the cop for sometime while the girl was heard flawing in English,” I have already sent the video to the police headquarters. Your feature on me will be of no use now because it’s established that nobody but a woman in a nighty mans the PS late at night. She is only one here to look after the complaints of people and help the distressed ones at their needs.”

Based on the CCTV footage and the outcomes of the Crime Branch probe, as many as 7 road romeos,who had allegedly manhandled the girl,were apprehended on Friday evening. However, the Ex-Servicemen outfits across the state have urged the DGP to initiate the sternest action against the alleged police personnel despite the concerned cops’ moral allegations and plane-paper complaint leveled against the night rider Captain and his fiancée.
